The group recently released its second album "Rites of Passage" in May 2020.  The music features original compositions enriched with the Voyager Jazz Ensemble's signature blend of eclectic music. Each composition and performance draws from a wide array of styles and genres from traditional Columbian music to Hard Rock. Due to the group’s ability to reach audiences of varied musical tastes, the Voyager Jazz Ensemble has performed at both popular music venues and jazz clubs alike. 

 

The ensemble combines a unique blend of sound textures that create a complex and often surprising sound palette. Easily comfortable on large festival stages or in an intimate jazz club, the Voyager Jazz Ensemble continues to impress audiences throughout the region.

The Voyager Jazz Ensemble was officially founded in Marseille France in May 2013. Debuting as a quartet, the group was compromised of a collection of musicians from France, Ireland, Canada, and the United States. The first recording of the group titled “Rencontre” was released in January 2014 to international critical acclaim. On the recording the quartet provides a fresh perspective on jazz standards and features 2 originals by co-founder William Brian Hogg. Special guests include Jazz vocalist Kristin Marion and the renowned William Galison, harmonica.

 

The latest collation of the Voyager Jazz Ensemble formed late in 2017 and boasts some of the very best young jazz musicians in the greater Cincinnati area. William Brian Hogg – saxophones, Zachary Granger – trombone, Sean Herzig – Malletkat/synthesizers, Jacob Hagedorn – guitar, Ryan Jones – piano, Oscar Salamanca – bass/congas, and Nick Hach – drums and percussion. Eric Snyder – trumpet.
